The Village of Algonquin, IL

1. You must be fingerprinted 45 days in advance of when you wish to conduct your solicitation.  Call 847-658-4531 to set up an appointment for fingerprinting.
2. You must pay $44.00 for fingerprinting (and for each solicitor on your team), and provide your completed application, along with anticipated dates that you will be soliciting. (See Ordinance, Chapter 34, for dates that are excluded.) The application must include the pertinent information concerning each additional solicitor(s) you will have helping you in your campaign.
3. The Chief of Police will review background information and will provide approval or disapproval at 45 days after your date of fingerprinting, or upon receipt of results.
4. Upon approval, you must pay $25.00 for each day (for each person) for your door-to-door activities and you must advise this specific timeframe at the time you apply  in #8 of the application.  You will pick up your license at the Police Department prior to soliciting and you must carry your license with you.
5. Failure to obtain a license can result in fines of $1,000.00 per occurrence.

1. Call 847-658-4531 to set up an appointment for fingerprinting in connection with obtaining a solicitors license.
2. Bring your completed application to your appointment and know that you and any of the individuals on your solicitation team will be photographed and fingerprinted at a cost of $44.00 per person at the time of your appointment.
3. Your application and the fingerprint information will be forwarded to Police Administration on that day.
4. Your application will then be reviewed, as will the background information for you and your team. You will be notified within 45 days from the date you were fingerprinted with the results.
5. If your application is approved, you will be given a laminated license.
6. Upon completion of your solicitation, you must return the license. The cost for the solicitation is not refundable.
