From the intersection of Algonquin Road and Main Street, go north on Main, take a right at Front Street, and then a left onto North Harrison Street. Follow North Harrison until you come to a Y intersection, take the left branch onto Getzelman Road, and go left on Pioneer Road, and you'll see the park on your left.

Merrill Pioneer Park in Algonquin spans 1.93 acres and is located at 1250 Getzelman Terrace. This small neighborhood park offers a peaceful setting with a picnic shelter, two playgrounds, a basketball court, benches, and pathways. The park holds historical significance, as it was once home to a natural spring that provided water to the Village.
The Village of Algonquin received an Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant in 1998 from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) to help develop this park facility.
