Ted Spella Leadership School - Testimonials - John O'Donnell | Class of 2005
Do you enjoy living in Algonquin and would you like to both learn what makes our community great, while giving back by getting involved in maintaining our quality of life? The best and most comprehensive way to do so is to enroll in the Ted Spella Leadership School. The Spella School is an in-depth view of vital community services and concerns.
In eight monthly sessions, one is exposed to such varied topics as municipal, township and county government; education; police and fire; public works; budgeting, finance and taxation; etc. My education and career experience have little to do with local government and services. Regardless, participating in the Ted Spella Leadership School has led to date serving a combined 15 years on the Algonquin Police Commission and as a trustee for the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Firefighters' Pension Board. These experiences have been personally rewarding; to say nothing of the many close friendships formed in and as a result of the Ted Spella Leadership School.
