Towne Park Master Plan Approved
The Towne Park Master Plan is a high-level process that was developed considering the vast historical significance and the existing floodplain at the site. The scope of a master plan includes a full site assessment to determine appropriate use and identify significant changes to park layout, land use, and available amenities and activities. Detailed items such as specific products, dimensions, materials, and other site conditions are not addressed until the design and engineering phase of the project.
The project kicked off in September 2021 with Hitchcock Design Group as the lead consultant assisting the Village with this project. A comprehensive public engagement strategy was employed with the following methods:
- Fall 2021: Project website launched
- November 2021: Public meeting #1 held
- December 2021: Online survey administered
- December 2021: Stakeholder input meetings held
- March 2022: Public meeting #2 held
- June 2022: Towne Park Master Plan adopted
The Village is currently preparing for the reconstruction of Towne Park, which is scheduled to begin in June 2024. Please check for current project updates on the project website.
