The Village of Algonquin, IL

The Electrical Commission, a six (6) member commission, adopts rules and regulations to administer and enforce Article 80 of the National Electrical Code, establishes qualifications of electrical inspectors, and revokes or suspends the recognition of any inspector's certificate for the jurisdiction.  Additionally, the Commission is authorized to establish and update the provisions for the safety of electrical installations to conform with the current edition of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) and other nationally recognized safety standards for electrical installations.

The Commission does not have set meeting days or times and meets only upon call of the Chairman, when necessary.

Residents are encouraged to submit an application to serve on one of the Village’s many Boards and Commissions. Applications can be submitted to the Village Clerk’s Office below.  Appointments are made by the entire Village Board annually or when vacancies occur.
