The Village of Algonquin, IL

This morning, January 17, 2025, at approximately 7:16 AM, Harry D. Jacobs High School received notification of a lockdown activation. In accordance with safety protocols, the school was immediately placed into lockdown, and officers from the Algonquin Police Department responded along with mutual aid assistance from nearby law enforcement agencies.

Officers conducted a thorough search of the building, and it was determined that the activation was a false alarm. At 8:10 AM, the lockdown was lifted, and normal classroom instruction resumed.
