Request for Proposals: ADA Self Evaluation and Transition Plan - Public Rights of Way

The Village of Algonquin is seeking a qualified and experienced firm to develop the Village's Americans with Disabilities Act Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan (ADA Transition Plan). The selected firm shall prepare a Condition Assessment Report on approximately 175 miles of public sidewalk, 36 miles of multi-use paths, and access to and within the Village’s 21 public parks that identifies existing obstacles limiting accessibility, other deficiencies including but not limited to cracks, differential settlement, and the condition rating of the Village's sidewalk network. The Condition Assessment Report shall be used to create the ADA Transition Plan.

Project Schedule

The selection process for the Request for Proposals includes the following steps, with the anticipated completion of the project by April 31, 2026.

  • Requests for Proposals Issued:  January 13, 2025 
  • Questions on Proposal Due:  January 27, 2025
  • Responses to Questions Issued:  February 3, 2025
  • Deadline for Proposal Submission:  February 10, 2025
  • Firm Interviews, as needed:  February 17-18, 2025
  • Contract Finalized:  February 25, 2025
  • Potential Approval by Village Board*:  March 18, 2025 
  • Anticipated Start:  March 19, 2025
  • Anticipated Completion:  April 31, 2026

*The kick-off meeting shall occur within two weeks of the agreement’s approval by the Village Board.
