Free Christmas Tree Collection in January Groot will collect your Christmas tree at no extra charge on your regular collection day throughout January. No sticker is needed. Please remember to follow the guidelines for recycling your tree.
Holiday Lights Recycling through January 15 Drop off unwanted holiday lights for recycling at Ganek Municipal Center until January 15. The Village has partnered with Elgin Recycling to make sure your lights are recycled responsibly. Check the list of accepted items before you drop them off.
Styrofoam Recycling Wondering what to do with Styrofoam from holiday gift packaging? Bring it to the Algonquin Public Works Facility at 110 Mitchard Way! Thanks to our partnership with The Environmental Defenders of McHenry County, recycling Styrofoam is easy. Just make sure it’s clean before dropping it off.

Winter Parking Reminder Remember, winter parking regulations are in effect through April 15. Parking is not allowed on public streets from 2:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. and after 2 inches of snowfall until streets are cleared.
Save the Date | Algonquin Egg Hunt The annual Algonquin Egg Hunt is scheduled for April 12 at 10:00 a.m. at Algonquin Lakes Park, a new location for this year only due to construction at Towne Park. Come early to catch the Bunny's arrival at 9:30 a.m. and allow time for parking.

Blood Drive at Algonquin Area Public Library District A blood drive will be held at the Algonquin Area Public Library District Main Branch on January 16 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome, although appointments are encouraged. Register online to donate.
