What to Expect at this Year's Event

Visitors can expect an exciting evening filled with holiday spirit in Old Town Algonquin, including live music and performances, the annual tree lighting, and a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. Families can enjoy trackless train rides, live reindeer, festive Old Town displays, and ice sculptures, along with free hot chocolate and kids' activities sponsored by local businesses. Downtown dining options will be open, and the Merry Market on Main starts shopping at 3:00 PM for a head start on holiday fun.

Miracle on Main takes place along the charming stretch of South Main Street, nestled between IL Route 62 and Madison Street, right in the heart of Algonquin's historic downtown. Join us in this festive location for a memorable celebration!

Public parking for Miracle on Main is available at Towne Park (100 Jefferson Street) and St. John's Lutheran Church (300 Jefferson Street), as well as along Washington Street, Jefferson Street, and La Fox River Drive. Additional parking can be found near the intersections of Railroad Street and South Main Street, along with nearby neighborhood streets surrounding the event area.

What time does Santa arrive?
Santa and Mrs. Claus are scheduled to arrive at the Main Street stage at 5:15 PM. Be sure to allow plenty of time for parking to secure a spot on the street to see them arrive!

What time is the tree lighting?
Santa will light the tree just after his arrival at 5:15 PM.

Will there be live music and performances?
Yes, live music and performances will begin at 3:30 PM and continue throughout the event. This year, entertainment will be available at both the main stage near the plaza and the smaller stage located at the Merry Market.

Where are the bathrooms located?
There are two restroom locations at the event. They can be found just off the plaza at Historic Village Hall and on Washington Street near the bank.

Where is the free hot cocoa sponsored by Riverbottom?
Starting at 4:00 PM, hot cocoa will be available outside Riverbottom Ice Cream on the southeast corner of Washington and Main Street. Please note that it is limited to the first 500 people.

Will there be food or drinks available at the event?
Bella’s Woodfire Pizza at 123 S. Main Street will be selling slices of their delicious pizza. Several snacks and treat options will also be available at the Merry Market. Additionally, other great dining options on Main Street will have specials during the event. Please note that any alcoholic drinks must be consumed before leaving the establishment.
