The Village of Algonquin, IL

The Village of Algonquin will begin the Columbaria Garden Construction at the Algonquin Cemetery in Fall 2024, with an expected completion by Spring 2025, weather permitting. The Columbaria Garden and niches were chosen for construction due to an increase in interest and need from the community. This project is the first installment of niches and allows for future expansion with more niches should all the niches be sold in the first installment.

Project Overview:

• Installation of 72 individual niches and 2 family niches.
• Construction of seat wall with landscaped beds to provide the community an inviting area to visit the garden.

In an effort to limit the disturbance of the cemetery, work will be done around the burial needs of the community.

Work Area:

• Block 10 of Algonquin Cemetery, situated at 990 Cary-Algonquin Road, lies in the southwestern most section of the cemetery. It is adjacent to the first entrance south of Cary-Algonquin Road, as you head away from Main Street.
