Algonquin Founders' Days Festival
Join the community for the annual Algonquin Founders' Days celebration from July 25 to July 28. Events on July 25 will take place in Old Town at the Towne Park parking lot and Riverfront Park, while activities from July 26 to 28 will be held at Spella Park. Don’t miss the Founders' Day Parade on July 27 at 11:00 a.m. in Old Town Algonquin.

Village Offices Closed July 4 & Groot Holiday Schedule
The Ganek Municipal Center and Public Works Facility in Algonquin will be closed on Thursday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. Groot refuse, recycling, and yard waste collection will be delayed by one day.

Major Park Renovations Underway in Algonquin
Renovations are well underway at Presidential Park and Towne Park, with significant upgrades anticipated at both sites. Renovations at Holder Memorial Park and James B. Wood Park are nearly complete and will soon be open for community enjoyment. Learn more about these projects at the link below.

Now Hiring: Entry-Level Police Officer
The Algonquin Police Department is holding a written test for entry-level Police Officer positions at the Ganek Municipal Center on July 24 at 6:00 p.m., August 7 at 6:00 p.m., and August 10 at 9:00 a.m. Applicants must bring a U.S. federal or state-issued photo ID and arrive on time. Upcoming Woods Creek Restoration Project: Reaches 6 & 7 in Summer 2024
Since 2005, the Village of Algonquin has been dedicated to restoring our green spaces to their natural beauty. The next chapter begins with Woods Creek Reaches 6 & 7 this summer. The project includes reshaping eroded creek banks, installing armor to prevent erosion, and planting native vegetation to stabilize the soil. Stay updated on our progress by signing up now!

Stay Cool this Summer at the Lions Armstrong Memorial Pool
Cool off this summer at Lions Armstrong Memorial Pool, located at 599 Longwood Drive. Our facility offers a lap pool, diving board, splash pad, and a lounge-ready pool deck. Click below for more information.

Blue Star Memorial Highway Marker Rededicated in Algonquin
Last month, the Blue Star Memorial Highway marker was rededicated at its new location on the southwest corner of IL Route 31 and Huntington Drive in Algonquin. This event, celebrating the efforts of the Algonquin Garden Club and other community groups, features a new pollinator garden that enhances the site. Click the link below to learn more.

National Night Out | August 6
Join us for National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Main Street in Old Town Algonquin. Enjoy games, live music, inflatables, snacks, and more, in partnership with the Algonquin Police Department, Recreation Department, Fire Department, and Algonquin Area Public Library.

Water Conservation Regulations
In June, Algonquin’s water conservation status was updated to Yellow. With this change, Even/Odd watering restrictions are now in effect: even-numbered addresses may water on even calendar days, and odd-numbered addresses on odd days, during permitted hours.
