Algonquin Named Tree City USA for 28th Consecutive Year
The Village of Algonquin has been named a Tree City USA community by the Arbor Day Foundation for its continued commitment to effective urban forest management. This year’s recognition marks the 28th consecutive year Algonquin has received this designation and the third consecutive year it has received the Growth Award.

Algonquin Recognizes Ted Spella Leadership School 2024 Graduates
The Village of Algonquin is proud to announce the graduation of its Ted Spella Leadership School’s Class of 2024. The graduation ceremony took place on April 13 at the Ganek Municipal Center and marked the successful completion of the eight-month leadership development program for this year's 11 graduates.

Willoughby Farms Rehabilitation Project
The Village of Algonquin is set to commence the Willoughby Farms Subdivision – Section 1 Rehabilitation project starting April 2024. Scheduled for completion in November 2024, the project will improve roadways, sidewalks, and more, enhancing local infrastructure and community amenities. Presidential Park Reconstruction
Presidential Park is set for significant upgrades with a $400,000 state grant contributing to its redevelopment. Planned improvements include new playgrounds suitable for all ages, enhanced sports facilities, and modernized paths and lighting to enhance usability and safety. Save the Date: Document Shredding Event
Algonquin residents can enjoy a free document shredding event in collaboration with Groot. It will be held on June 1 at the Algonquin Public Works Facility (110 Mitchard Way) from 9:00AM to 12:00PM. Participants must verify residency and can bring up to eight (8) standard banker boxes of materials such as office paper and file folders, without binders or harmful items.

Budget: FY 2024 - 2025
On April 2, the Village Board of Algonquin unanimously approved the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 annual budget of $101.3 million, which includes $48.3 million for capital improvements. The budget is available for viewing at the Ganek Municipal Center or online at the link provided below.

Spring Hydrant Flushing Schedule
The Village of Algonquin Utilities Division will begin flushing hydrants throughout the village starting April 1. Hydrants are flushed twice a year to ensure their proper operation and to improve water quality by circulating water through the system. See below when hydrants are being flushed near you.

2023 Water Quality Report
The Village of Algonquin's Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) is now available online. This annual report details the quality of your drinking water, listing any regulated contaminants and providing health information related to water safety standards.
