Tri-Area Court for Teens (TACT) Program

We are always looking for adolescent volunteers to join our team as jury members for the Tri-Area Court for Teens (TACT). TACT is a collaborative peer jury designed to rehabilitate non-violent, first-time offenders. Our process provides a meaningful and remedial way of dealing with selected offenders without involving the Juvenile Court. Teens involved in criminal behavior are referred to TACT by all three partnering police departments (Algonquin, Huntley, and Lake in the Hills).

To qualify as a TACT juror, you just need to meet these simple requirements:

  • Be between high school age and 20 years old.
  • Have had no negative police contact within the last year.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding cases assigned to TACT.

By becoming a TACT juror, you'll have the opportunity to earn service hours towards school requirements, organizational membership, and college applications. If you're interested in serving your community and gaining valuable experience, please fill out the interest boxes below and a representative from the Algonquin Police Department will be in touch with you soon.
