The Village of Algonquin, IL
Welcome to the website for the Village of Algonquin!
Snow and Ice Control
In the winter months, the General Services Streets and Rights of Way team oversees all aspects of snow removal and management. With the assistance of all Public Works teams, snow is removed from Village streets, parking areas, select bike paths, and all sidewalks adjoining Village property. Each lane of a Village street requires several snow plow passes to clear, depending on the width and type of road, and intensity of the storm. Copies of the current Snow and Ice Control Plan can be found online.
Report Concerns
You may report snow and ice control concerns online using Algonquin Fix It! Your report is sent directly to our snow plowing operations team in the field and is the best way to communicate with us during and after the snow event.
To Trails of Woods Creek Residents:
Pulte home is responsible for removing snow. Contact the office on Frank Road. Phone No: (847) 469-1436
For the Courts:
If your court still needs to be cleared, it is on the schedule to be plowed by the Village's contractor. Our initial priority is to clear the roadway first. We appreciate your patience as they make their way through town.
Snow Removal Mailbox Damage
Please report suspected snow plow damage to your mailbox online using Algonquin Fix It! or by calling the Public Works at 847-658-2754. If there is evidence that the plow made physical contact with the mailbox, you will be sent a letter with options for repair and replacement. If required, a temporary mailbox will be provided.
If there is no evidence of physical contact by the plow, and the force of the snow caused damage to the mailbox, the permanent repair is the responsibility of the homeowner. If required, a temporary mailbox will be provided. This temporary mailbox must be returned to the Public Works prior to May 1.
Snow Plow Real-Time Map (Test)
The Village is proud to launch an interactive map (test version) displaying real-time GPS locations of snow and ice removal vehicles. This innovative tool allows residents to track the progress of these vehicles in their area, offering greater transparency and reassurance during winter weather events. This tool is part of the Village's commitment to efficient and transparent winter weather services, ensuring residents stay informed and safe during snow and ice conditions. Currently, the map is in its test version, and additional functionality and features will be added in the future to enhance its utility.
