About This Location

High Hill Park and Nature Preserve in Algonquin spans 30.1 acres, with 10.4 acres of wetlands, offering a unique blend of recreation and natural beauty. The park is divided into two sections. The southern park, located on Harnish Drive between Providence Drive and Roaring Brook Lane, features a neighborhood playground, shelter, swing set, and sand pit. A winding path leads down a long hill to the northern park, which boasts a large open field for team sports and a walking path. In between these sections lies the tranquil nature preserve, complete with a lake and stream. From the top of the park, enjoy a scenic view of the surrounding area.

The Village of Algonquin received an Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant in 1994 from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) to help develop this park facility.

Please note that the park operates from dawn to dusk, and actual opening and closing times may vary slightly based on the time of year.
