About This Location

Cornish Park in Algonquin spans 2.43 acres along the scenic Fox River and is home to the Village’s signature Cornish Park clock tower. The park is rich in history, featuring several historical markers and buildings that tell the story of Algonquin’s past. Named after Dr. Andrew Cornish, one of the earliest settlers, the park offers a mix of attractions, including a playground, walking path, fishing spots, and a gazebo available for rental by completing the online application. Located just east of Main Street, it’s conveniently close to shops for a quick stop before or after your visit.

The Village of Algonquin received two Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grants in 1999 and 2004 from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) to help develop this beautiful park.

Please note that the park operates from dawn to dusk, and restroom facilities are open from approximately May 1 to October 15, weather permitting.
